Why you should choose Stone Creek Park for your senior photos?

Looking for the perfect backdrop for your senior portraits? Stone Creek Park in Flower Mound, TX might just be the hidden gem you’re searching for! Stone Creek Park is actually just a small park behind some lucky residential homes. It obviously offers a creek with lots of big boulders surrounding it, but there’s also other green spaces and trails for added variety. Stone Creek Park for your senior portraits is perfect for it’s beautiful natural settings and versatile backgrounds.

Unique features of Stone Creek Park

I love photographing in Stone Creek Park because it offers a variety of backdrops in such a small area. The stone creek is tucked away from the street so you would never know it was there unless you walked the trails. It offers a secluded environment for a photo session for even the shyest of seniors. Aside from the stone creek, there is also a small open field, a wooden bridge and a variety of paved trails that are perfect for any photo session you desire. Parking is located on the street and from the few times that I’ve been there, I have never had any problems with parking.

Benefits of choosing Stone Creek Park for your senior photos

If your senior loves being in nature, then they will love this location! The tall trees that surround the stone creek allows for the prettiest filtered light. The park is quiet and provides a backdrop that can be relaxing if you are nervous over being photographed for the first time. Whether your style is casual or boho or classic, Stone Creek Park is great for being versatile of all styles.

Tips for a successful senior session at Stone Creek Park

Because Stone Creek Park has many tall trees surrounding the creek itself, it does get dark during golden hour. This can work to your benefit, especially if you have a particularly busy senior who has practice or a job later in the evening. Photographing before the start of golden hour can give you the pretty filtered light through the trees during that time.

When considering an outdoor location like Stone Creek Park, it is important to understand the elements that you will be in. Choose nice sneakers or flat, rubber sole shoes if you plan on climbing down in to the creek. You may want to consider a color palette that complements the green/natural environment as well.

Lastly, water levels may rise after a bout of rain, so you may want to check to see if the boulders are accessible before hand.
