Grapevine Botanical Gardens in Grapevine, TX offers a variety of locations to have your senior session – all in one location. I seriously think it’s hard to take a bad picture here, just because of how beautifully maintained they keep the garden. Check out this Coppell Senior here and the portraits that we made. Here are my tips for a successful session.

Go early-ish
Our session this day was a bit cloudy, but the sun did come out in the end. Because there are tall trees in the garden, you may want to start your session here a little earlier, especially if you will be going to a second location.
Watch where you sit, stand, and walk!
There are plenty of little creatures in a garden setting, so it’s important to watch where you want to sit and stand. Make sure you look for any bugs, rodents, etc. before you sit anywhere. I almost forgot my own advice when I wanted to pose Lilly on a fence line. A few days prior when I scouted the location, it was free and clear, but on the day of our photo shoot, it was teeming with ants! Always check and double check where you want you want to sit, stand and walk.

Wander and Collaborate
Our plan for the session was to basically take a tour of the Botanical Garden. There are so many rocks, trees, and plantings that can add variety and dimension to your senior portraits. Be on the lookout for pockets of light too. They add a bit of drama to your senior portraits.
Go on a weekday
During the spring, Grapevine Botanical Gardens becomes a popular place for prom photos. If you want a relaxed photo session, my advice would be to go during a random weekday evening. It’s better for everyone involved.
Conclusion
Grapevine Botanical Gardens is a popular location for Coppell Senior Portraits and rightfully so. It’s a beautiful location and offers a variety of backgrounds to make sure your gallery is full and cohesive.
